Full-Mouth Reconstruction
July 24, 2026 in General
Dental problems rarely happen all at once. A tooth cracks, an old crown begins to fail, another tooth is lost, and chewing gradually becomes harder. Over time, the changes can affect what you eat, how your bite feels, and whether you feel comfortable smiling in photos or talking with other people.
Full-mouth reconstruction allows Dr. Shawn Tokunaga to step back, look at everything together, and build a plan around the way your mouth functions as a whole.
Looking at the Big Picture
Full-mouth reconstruction is not a single treatment. It may involve crowns, bridges, dental implants, bite correction, gum treatment, or replacement of older dental work. Each plan is different because each patient arrives with a different history, set of concerns, and idea of what they would like to change.
The process begins with a careful examination and an honest conversation. Dr. Tokunaga will ask what feels uncomfortable, which foods have become difficult to eat, and whether past dental experiences have made you hesitant to move forward. From there, treatment can be planned in a practical order and explained clearly before anything begins.

Everyday Comfort Matters
The change may be easy to see in before-and-after photos, but much of the real benefit shows up in ordinary moments. You may be able to bite into food without thinking twice, speak without worrying about a loose or broken tooth, or smile without trying to hide one side of your mouth.
Addressing worn teeth, missing teeth, damaged dental work, and bite problems together can also make your mouth easier to care for and more comfortable day to day.
Where to Start
Some patients come in after putting off treatment for years because they assume their teeth are too far gone or the process will be too complicated. That is often not the case.
You do not need to arrive with a plan. Meet with Dr. Tokunaga, tell him what has been bothering you, and let the conversation start there. Together, you can look at the choices in front of you and decide what feels right for your health, comfort, and life.
